Allaah says:
“إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ”
“Indeed We have sent down the Quraan and indeed we will preserve it (from corruption)”
{Al-Hijr (15):9}

Likewise the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) said:

“The best of you are those who learn the Quraan and teach it” (Bukhari and Muslim)

Here at Sahabah Institute we offer the opportunity for your children to obtain the rank of, ’the best of people’ and be a part of this on-going chain, learning to recite the Quraan as it was revealed. A chain that started with Allaah – the Lord of the Worlds – to Jibreel, (Allaah’s highest ranking Angel) who heard it directly from Allaah and conveyed it to Prophet Muhammed, (peace be upon him) who heard it from Jibreel and then conveyed it to the Noble Companions who took it from the Prophet’s, (peace be upon him) blessed mouth and then taught it to their students and so on, until today.

Alhamdulillah we have a number of highly-skilled and qualified tutors – male and female – with decades of experience teaching the Quraan; reading, Tajweed, memorisation and revision.

Our program is directed towards our beloved students, between the ages of 6-18.

Our program allows the student to study at their own pace from the comfort of their home in an exciting and positive environment.

What is covered?

Reading: The first step that needs to be taken in order to learn the Quraan. We offer our students the foundation that they need commencing with the Arabic alphabet and vowel sounds until they are able to read with confidence.

“اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ”
“Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists),”
{Al-‘Alaq (96):1}

Tajweed: After mastering the foundation of reading, we then move on to study the principles of how to use the mouth and tongue correctly in order to recite correctly and beautifully.

“وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا”
“and recite the Quraan with measured recitation.”
{Al-Muzammil (73):4}

Memorisation: Every parent desires to have the honour in this life and the Hereafter of their child becoming a Hafidh of the Quraan. We are here to help you realise that dream. We take our students on a journey through the Quraan; chapter by chapter, verse by verse, word by word and letter by letter so that they can be from those who Allaah tells us about:

“بَلْ هُوَ آيَاتٌ بَيِّنَاتٌ فِي صُدُورِ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ”
“Rather, the Quraan is distinct verses [preserved] within the chests of those who have been given knowledge.”
{Al-‘Ankabūt (29):49}

Revision: During the Quraan memorisation journey and beyond, the student must constantly revise what they have memorised, in order not to forget it. The Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) said:

“Read the Quraan regularly. By the one in whose Hand Muhammad’s soul is, it escapes from memory faster than a camel does from its tying ropes.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

We work with our students utilising a method that includes revision of the most recent verses that they have taken as well the ones that are the furthest away.
